Ally Fresh and DJ Mura Seek Refuge With "Nyumbani"

Following their first release ‘Hutia’ featuring Ayrosh back in 2021, Ally Fresh and DJ Mura are back with a second single ‘Nyumbani’ from their highly anticipated (untitled) EP.  It features songstress Wendy Kay and rapper Japesa in a cinematic track that blends English, Swahili and Luo, with the sounds of Benga, Afropop and Dance. 

Masese’s saxophone riffs introduce us to the song before Wendy Kay's angelic vocals take over and transport us into anticipated bliss. Japesa then grounds the song with his vernacular hip-hop flow, leading to the final section of the track which is graced by Udulele’s synonymous Benga guitar riffs that were also instrumental in the first single, ‘Hutia’.

“We’re thrilled to be releasing ‘Nyumbani’, the second single from our upcoming EP,” says Ally Fresh. “Our objective is to showcase rich cultural sounds rooted in African traditions by embracing the paradoxes of innovation”.
