Steph (The Rapper) delivered an immersive work of art at the beginning of the year, (January 24th to be precise), with her much anticipated debut album titled ‘Change’.

Her flow is seamless, interactive and gives off all round feel good energy. You want to dance, think, visualise and journal all at the same time. She’s notably a good story teller and overall wordsmith which is evidenced on  songs like Marathon and Changes where she speaks on her rap career and the journey to success. Sonically, there’s a little bit of everything amongst all 7 tracks. No two sounds are the same; it’s really more than just rap, it’s actually abstract! Steph gives us a little bit of everything - as if to show us the different faces she carries as an artist, so that we dare not box her into any limitations.

Through this, she shares some accolades to her roots. For EA Girls and Papaya Dreams (both lead singles) highlight this. She’s able to maintain her Kenyan flow (and slang) while still sounding crisp, clear and intentional. To put it simply, she’s marked herself as a world class act with her first project release.

BV Accurate and Kev Beats are amongst the collaborators on the album, and Üzrr is the executive producer of the project.

Throughout the replays the most satisfying thing is the confidence she carries in each song. She’s calm, she’s present and she’s moving towards her vision with no fear. She makes it clear that she’s transforming into the woman (and artist) she was destined to become and I’m thrilled to see where all these changes will take her.

You can find all her music on all major music platforms.

The debut.
