Mucyo's "Scared" Encourages Us To Let Go In Order To Let Love In

On “Scared” feat. Malaika Uwamohoro, a single off of her EP, Free soulful Rwandese singer/songwriter and poet Mucyo presents us with a vulnerable, raw and relatable story, one of learning how to let go of the pain and insecurities from a relationship gone sour, and allowing yourself to move on and love again. Mucyo’s captivating voice floats through the piano driven track as she passsionately gives voice to these complex emotions.

The accompanying visuals are as eqaully arresting. Mucyo enlists fellow Rwandese creatives Christian Kayiteshonga (photographer & filmmaker) and Malaika Uwamohoro (artist) as the stars of the video; their emotive performance coupled with Edige Foxworth’s decision in using hazy, close-up shots perfectly brings to life the songs storyline.
