The two official singles off of the project include: MANGROVES (Contours Edit) and Driver ft. Boaz Jagingo which were released mid and late October (16th and 30th respectively). The full EP is set to be released on the 13th of November on all streaming platforms, so keep an ear out for it. I have gotten a chance to listen to the whole project and I must say it is a soul fulfilling body of music. It is seriously the most electrifying and energetic EP I’ve heard from Kenya in a really long time. Each instrument is played live and listening to it feels like the whole band is right there sharing their story with you. 

The PYRAMID PROJECT is a live band formed by some of Kenya’s foremost musicians. With Sam Mbaluka on Bass, Gervais Katumba on Drums and Percussion, Boaz Jagingo on Oruto and Vocals, Juma Tutu on Saxaphone, Abaki Simba on Percussion and Dennis Malesi and Joel Watatua on Horns. They are joined by CONTOURS who features on Drums and Percussion. He adds his own touch to each song on the project as a modern producer who explores different sound textures including Jazz, Hip Hop, House music, among others. LASTA as the label head of ADA records was in charge of putting this culture rich project together at his studio. 

Each song tells a different story and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear it all!
