'Try' Is A Heart-wrenching Reminder of Broken Relationships

Kenyan-born, NYC based artist maũ began 2020 with his latest single, “Try”, which tells the bleak but all-too-relatable story of a failed relationship.

The first in the lead up to is upcoming debut album, ‘Try’ is devoid of the melodrama that stereotypically accompanies break ups. Instead, maũ half-sings (a unique signature of his style) over a sparsely produced percussive track. His delivery, carried by a repeating, melodic guitar pattern is resigned as he sighs, “Maybe it was me then, maybe it was meant to be, then. I don’t want to feel like, I’m a bit too hard to love.”
