The Hype Group Limited in conjunction with the Memphis bar and restaurant brought together people from all over the world to Nairobi, Kenya to support artists that are paving the way for African music at the inaugural HYPE Fest, which took place at the Ngong Racecourse. Artists such as Tunji, Khaligraph Jones, Timmy TDat and Otile Brown were on the line up as well as DJ Protégé, DJ Hypnotiq, DJAlly Fresh, DJ Kill Switch and DJ Crème Dela Creme.
The highlight and headliner of the festival was Mr. Eazi who gave a breath taking performance of his hit songs ‘Leg Over’ ‘Dance for me’ and ‘Skintight,’ amongst others, which electrified the crowd who continuously recited the lyrics.
The live set up at Kenyan concerts is steadily improving and moving into the ranks of much more developed countries. The lights and sound were phenomenal. There were no glitches, no static in the microphones - it was fantastic. The show was an overall success.
