Taste the Rainbow with Uganda’s Bero in her latest track “Colors”

Uganda’s Bero's latest track “Colors” is a song that instantly fills you with joy. From its groovy percussive patterns, to its earworm of a chorus, we’re warmly welcomed into Bero’s brilliantly lit up world of love.

“Colors”begins by slowly leading you into the song with a simple synth melody before Bero bursts in, belting the refrain, “Beautiful Colors”. In a beautiful falsetto that sets the tone for the rest of the track, she lets us know that this song is a declaration of her feelings. Throughout the track, Bero expresses her love and desire for this significant other with deep assurance, offering hope that they were built to last. This theme is not only expressed in the lyricism but also in the uniquely bright yet grounded production style.

The bassline mimics a classical walking bass and leads us through the journey of Bero expressing her feelings, subtly reminding the listener of the same feelings that she sings of. With cascading melodies, she expresses how a relationship will persevere through the highs and lows that young love endures.

“Colors” also features fellow Ugandan rapper and MC The Mith who delivers a killer verse that shares Bero’s sentiments about love from a man’s perspective. With powerful certainty, he speaks of his person in wonder, offering them adoration, praise and sentiments of support. And we are here for it!

Overall, this song is fun and full of life. A story of love and support is expressed in every element of the song. In a world often devoid of such hope, we thank Bero for offering us a little rainbow of optimism.
